Fukuhara Corporation with Shiseido Co., Ltd.

Fukuhara is a founding family of Shiseido, a leading company in Japan's beauty industry today. Shiseido was established in 1872 by Arinobu Fukuhara as a Western-style pharmaceutical store in Ginza with the aim of providing high-quality drugs for good health. Arinobu's son, Shinzo Fukuhara, not only expanded the business to include cosmetic items but also introduced beautiful cultural elements from Western countries. In 1921, the family made the decision to separate ownership and management, establishing a family business company called Fukuhara Corporation, distinct from Shiseido. Today, the Fukuhara group comprises 8 companies, all owned by the family. Although these two entities operate independently with different missions, they maintain a special relationship.
